Renee is a scenic designer for both stage and film from Jiangyin, China. She has been drawing and painting since very young but fell in love with theatre and performance art in high school. So she left her oil paints and came to the US to pursue theatre design.
Her goal for designing is to feel out the scripts and give them visual elements and more importantly life. Let the audience feel the essence of the play visually.
During her time at SU Drama, she scenic designed Mansfield Park(main stage) and Mud (Blackbox Player), as well as assisting on many other productions at SU Drama and Syracuse Stage- Grand Night for Singing, Wild Party, Good Kids, Elf the Musical, Into the Woods, and Baltimore Waltz. She also production designed two films- Blue Hour by Dahee Yun, and Paranoid by Tsung Ju Yang.
