The voice pedagogy program is designed to meet the needs of the student who has an undergraduate degree in music with voice as the main instrument, and who desires to pursue a career as a voice instructor, either in an academic setting or a private one.

With a focus on development as a knowledgeable teacher of singing, the program offers an intensive curriculum in voice pedagogy, voice science, pedagogical issues, repertoire, diction, career planning methods, voice study, performance, and experience in teaching. In addition, students have access to the most current voice science laboratory equipment in collaboration with the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, part of the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University. With performance training incorporated into the program, students have a variety of options upon completion of the degree, including teaching voice or diction, opera directing, or pursuing a doctoral degree.
