Your academic advisor is a faculty member in your area of study. Please note that advising assignments are made by individual academic schools/departments. Incoming first-year students in SU:VPA are likely to be notified of their academic advisor after they arrive on campus and will not necessarily meet with their academic advisor on Opening Weekend.
Schedules for incoming first-year students are put together prior to their arrival on campus. First-year students can view schedules upon move-in and may schedule adjust as outlined by the Registrar’s Office. After this first semester, students are responsible for managing their own registration and schedule adjustment and do so through a web portal known as MySlice.
External transfer students meet with an advisor during Opening Weekend and can then add classes on MySlice. Student Affairs staff will be available to assist as outlined in the orientation schedule.
Returning undergraduate students are eligible to register and schedule adjust as outlined by the Registrar’s Office.
Note: Most College of Visual and Performing Arts students are required to meet with their faculty advisor before they can register for classes. For more information, please refer to the SU:VPA Statement on Academic Advising.
