Matthew Peters Warne is a composer and installation artist who creates work to explore the role we play in our own perception. Warne creates electronic instruments and software to manipulate recordings of everyday soundscapes in live performance.

His recordings are drawn primarily from Angola, in southern Africa, as part of an effort to understand the intersection between emerging, resource-rich nations and changing global cultures. His doctoral work at Brown University is in multimedia and electronic music composition; he holds an M.S. in digital media from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.A. from Grinnell College with majors in music and economics.
