Anneka Herre is an artist and curator whose work combines her formal background in philosophy, literature, sculpture, and video to explore the burgeoning anti-fields of post- and trans-humanism. Since receiving an M.F.A. in moving image from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006, she has exhibited and screened work actively in various venues, including Chicago Filmmakers (Chicago), the Nightingale (Chicago); the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh; the Community Folk Art Center (Syracuse), and the Everson Museum of Art (Syracuse).

In addition to teaching part-time in the Department of Transmedia, Herre is the technical producer of the Urban Video Project (UVP) in Syracuse. She provides technical, creative, administrative, and curatorial support for UVP, an organization that features multiple large-scale new media art venues in downtown Syracuse.
