Holly Greenberg, associate professor in the School of Art, is raising awareness of bird-window collisions, one of the leading causes of bird deaths, through a crowdsourced art project, Bird Collisions in the Anthropocene, recently featured in the Chicago Tribune (subscription required).
Greenberg holds free workshops where attendees create a replica of one of the 10,836 birds that died from a window collision last year in Chicago. She will use the bird replicas to make an artwork the size of a football field.
