Guinevere Turner, visiting assistant professor of film in the Department of Film and Media Arts, received the Queer Luminary Award at the Seattle Queer Film Festival. The award ceremony took place before the screening of the Sapphic Centerpiece Film “Healed,” in which she co-stars.
Turner is a writer, director, and actor who has been working in film and TV since her 1994 debut film “Go Fish,” which she wrote, produced, and starred in. She can be seen in film roles that include “The Watermelon Woman,” “Chasing Amy,” “American Psycho,” and “The L Word.”
