Alex Mendez Giner, associate professor of film in the Department of Film and Media Arts, recently traveled to the Republic of Panama at the invitation of the minister of culture and the national director of Panama’s Film Commission to introduce a new generation of filmmakers to the art of scriptwriting and to share his recent research “Imaginary Shadows” on the use of cinematography tools to analyze and interpret chiaroscuro effects in painting.
