Project Title: Memory+
Designer Bio:
My name is Boyu Shan; I am originally from Beijing China. During my college years, through my exploration across various domains during my college years in industrial and interaction design, I discovered the future trajectory of my design: rehabilitation and assistive technology aimed at tackling the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups.
I chose to do a thesis project related to healthcare with the hope of getting involved in this field earlier and experiencing research and problem-solving alongside professionals in the field. I believe this project will better help me understand the complexity of healthcare projects and the importance of being user centered.
Project Description:
Memory+ is a set of product and system that helps people with brain injuries to rehabilitate their numeric memory ability. The controller of this product’s controller is very simple, making it applicable to a wider range of patient populations for Memory+.
This Memory+ system integrates the P.A.O. memory system, which is a memory technique used by poker memory champions.
Through experimentation, I have confirmed the effectiveness of this memory system for patients with brain injuries, and I utilize this system to assist patients in rehabilitating their digital memory abilities.
