Laura has a 15-year background working as an administrative and communications specialist at higher education institutes in the Northeast, including Syracuse University, Boston University and Rochester Institute of Technology.

She has a proven track record as an out-of-box thinker with strong conceptual, written/editorial and creative skills. Most notably, Laura worked as public relations consultant to US Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky during his three-year tenure at the Library of Congress, launching the national Favorite Poem Project and award-winning website (favoritepoem.org). Laura will provide executive-level professional support to the CRS department chair, working collaboratively as a team member to manage daily operations of department. She will oversee internal/external departmental communications, web page and social media channels, and will manage event planning for faculty, students, admissions/recruitment and alumni, including: CRS Engaging Careers, DC Inside the Beltway, Maymester, SULA, and White Denison Presentational Speaking Competition.
