Jonathan M. Bullinger is a collective memory scholar who received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University. His areas of special interest are collective memory, alternative history, commemoration, branding, war, and popular culture.
Bullinger has taught at State University of New York: Oneonta and Geneseo, Ithaca College, and Rutgers University.
Achievements
- Author of the book Reagan’s “Boys” and The Children of The Greatest Generation: U.S. World War II Memory, 1984 and Beyond (Routledge, 2020).
- Published book chapters on the war imagination in both board games (MIT Press) and Lego (Peter Lang), as well as on the construction of selective historical authenticity in video games (Bloomsbury).
- Co-creator and co-host of Inside the Box: the TV History Podcast
