Prior to joining the team, Perkioniemi worked at Le Moyne College as a career success advisor and before that spent five years working at the D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families, working his way up from an advisor to advising services manager and then to associate director of entrepreneurship and small business. He is an Army veteran, serving 13 years on active duty, primarily in the public affairs career field. He holds a master's degree in management from St. John Fisher University and a bachelor's degree in communications from Thomas Edison State University.
