As a music and theater graduate of SUNY Oswego, Williams has been alto soloist for SUNY Oswego's Festival Chorus on several occasions and has performed with Oswego Opera Theater many times as either chorister or in comprimario roles, along with being a rehearsal accompanist for a few operas. He has also been a chorister for Syracuse Opera and the Society for New Music. Williams directs the choir at Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church and has been a periodic alto section leader at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He has performed at the Redhouse Arts Center and also with the Covey Theater Company, where he also music directed some shows. As former music director at Cazenovia College, Williams had the privilege to collaborate with David Lowenstein, professor of practice in musical theater, on numerous shows in the nostalgic Catherine Cummings Theatre before its closure in 2023.
Prior to coming to Syracuse University, Williams worked in the performing arts program at SUNY Cortland as periodic adjunct, coach, accompanist, and most recently music director for the production of “Sweet Charity,” with Lowenstein directing. An alumnus of Onondaga Community College, Williams is co-director for its annual musical with Associate Professor Lisa Miller.
