Kathryn Ferentchak ’17

August 8, 2023

Kathryn Ferentchak ’17, a film alumnus of the Department of Film and Media Arts, was recently named 2023 Filmmaker of the Year/Visual Effects by Pro Moviemaker Magazine for artist JWalks’ music video “White Wine.” Ferentchak served as director and producer of the video, and Theo Dudley was writer and creative director. The video was the first shoot at Cinepacks’ brand-new LED virtual production studio in Hollywood, combining mixed media, aerial dancing and in-camera visual effects.

Following graduation from Syracuse University, Ferentchak moved to Los Angeles, where she has been involved in numerous film, television and commercial productions. In 2019, she received a $40,000 production grant through CNY Arts Innovation Group to produce her short film “I Wish.” New York Fashion Week premiering fashion films edited by Ferentchak for designer Wolk Morias achieved recognition in fashion film festivals around the world. She is currently completing the 2023 digital fashion showcase for Wolk Morias, her third in the series.
