VPA’s Jenny Saluti Elected to National Portfolio Day Association Board

February 1, 2018

Jenny SalutiJenny Saluti, director of recruitment and admissions in the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), was elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) at its recent annual conference in Sarasota, Fla. An active member of the association for more than 10 years, Saluti has served on the organization’s membership committee since April 2014.

The NPDA is an organization of U.S. and international colleges and universities accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) whose purpose is to assist art students in embarking upon their post-secondary or post-graduate educational careers. Its primary function is the coordination and promotion of National Portfolio Days, a nationwide series of events hosted by member institutions where students can meet with member institutions about their creative work and receive information about preparing a portfolio in their pursuit of higher education in the fields of art and design. The NPDA also serves to promote professionalism and ethical practice among art school admissions offices.

Starting her appointment on July 1, Saluti will be one of 14 governing members representing 105 schools and will serve as board liaison to one of the established NPDA committees, participate in regular board meetings and assist in planning the annual conference. Upcoming board projects include the development of a comprehensive strategic plan and a new website design.

Saluti started her career in admissions in 2003 as a field recruitment representative with the VPA Office of Recruitment and Admissions, and she has held several positions in the office until taking over as director in November 2015. Prior to her work in admissions, Saluti taught foundation art and design courses at Louisiana State University, Syracuse University and Cazenovia College. Saluti earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in printmaking from VPA and a master of fine arts degree from Louisiana State University. In addition to her involvement with the NPDA, Saluti is an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the New York Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC).
