Art @ Home Virtual Artists Talks to Feature VPA Alumni

August 5, 2020
Helen Zughaib
Helen Zughaib ’81 will kick off the series.

The Syracuse University Art Museum is launching a series of virtual conversations, Art @ Home, connecting contemporary artists and their work to friends and alumni of Syracuse University. The August schedule of artists includes four College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) alumni: Helen Zughaib ’81 (August 6), Jave Yoshimoto G’12 (Aug. 11), Richard Pasquarelli ’90 (Aug. 18) and Deborah Roberts G’14 (Aug. 20).

The virtual sessions—moderated by museum curatorial staff and faculty from VPA—enable the audience to listen to innovative and diverse visual artists discussing stimulating issues in culture today, including how the current events such as the COVID-19 pandemic have affected their art careers and message. Chosen for their creative brilliance and fresh perspectives, the speakers will share their vision, working process and insights on the societal, cultural and thematic trends they represent.
