VPA Alumni Recognized at 2019 Emmy Awards

Two College of Visual and Performing Arts alumni were among the winners at the 71st Emmy Awards. In total, nine VPA alumni received Emmy nominations.

Tony Zajkowski ’88 (advertising design) was part of the “Queer Eye” editing team that won the Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Reality Or Competition Program. Joshua Guillaume ’14 (history of art) was the compositing supervisor among a team at Framestore who completed “Free Solo: 360,” which won an Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media Within an Unscripted Program.

  • Vera Farmiga ’95 (drama), actress, “When They See Us”: Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Limited Series Or Movie
  • David Hyman ’75 (drama), nominated twice in the same category, in his roles as producer of “The Good Place” and co-executive producer of “Veep,” Outstanding Comedy Series
  • Kevin M. Richardson ’88 (drama), voice actor, nominated for the “F is For Family” episode “The Stinger”: Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance
  • Kent Sublette ’91 (musical theater), head writer, “Saturday Night Live”: Outstanding Writing For A Variety Series
  • Briana Vowels ’05 (stage management), supervising producer, “American Ninja Warrior”: Outstanding Competition Program
  • Christopher White ’94 (computer graphics), visual effects supervisor, “Umbrella Academy”: Outstanding Special Visual Effects
