Marty Blake has been working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer for many years. Her illustration is grounded in collage, both digital and traditional. Her specialties as an illustrator include editorial work, collateral, and packaging.

Clients include: Doubleday, Alfred A Knopf, Little Brown, Melcher Media, Potter Styles, Random House, St. Martin’s Press, Viking Penguin, WW Norton, Boston Globe, Fast Company, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Ross/Madrid, Silver Partners, Smog Design, so on and so forth. In addition to her professional practice, Blake teaches full time in SU’s illustration program. Her classes include Illustration Research Problems, Senior Portfolio, Lettering and Illustration, and Business of Illustration. She is the Education Chair on the Board of ICON, the Illustration Conference, held every other year with an international roster of attendees and presenters.
