Marty Blake is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Her illustration is grounded in collage, both digital and traditional. Her specialties as an illustrator include editorial, book jackets, collateral, and packaging.

She’s illustrated and designed for practically every book publisher in the U.S., as well as design firms and publications large and small. She’s designed and implemented brands, creating everything from logos to packaging. She’s won awards and been featured in the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Print magazine, 3x3 magazine, and other industry showcases.

Marty is serving a second term as Education Chair on the Board of ICON, the Illustration Conference, held every other year in the USA, with an international roster of attendees and presenters. ICON11 will be in Kansas City, MO in 2022. Her first self-authored book was published in February, 2021 by Bloomsbury Visual Arts, London, UK: Drawn to Type: Lettering for Illustrators

Marty currently teaches the M.F.A. in Illustration Thesis class, Lettering and Illustration, and Illustration Practice.
