Artist Statement

With a focus on everyday scenarios encountered by parents and children, I aim to create a heartwarming and informative guidebook, serving as a beacon for fostering love and understanding within these familial bonds. Through thoughtful depictions and insights, I aim to bridge the cultural and emotional understanding gap, celebrating the rich tapestry of love within East Asian households.

At the heart of my project is a commitment to showcasing the positive and nurturing ways parents can respond to their children’s emotions. Emphasizing empathy, understanding, and the cultivation of emotional intelligence, I strive to empower parents to create nurturing environments where love flourishes and familial bonds deepen. Through "Why Emotions Matter," I seek to contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation of East Asian familial dynamics, promoting love, empathy, and emotional well-being within these cherished relationships.
