Artist Statement

Brady Andrew McDougall (b. 1997, Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is an interdisciplinary artist working to understand the historical trends that have led humankind to believe that culture separates them from the natural world. His work focuses on contemporary Western existence, hegemonic cultural values, the systems that perpetuate them, and the spaces that eschew them in search of new models for coexistence.

Artist Bio

McDougall works with video, remixed media, photography, poetry, and found objects to create videos and immersive installations. He received a B.A. degree in film studies and a B.A. degree in digital storytelling from the University of Missouri in May 2019. He is pursuing an M.F.A. degree in art video at Syracuse University. McDougall also works as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Film and Media Arts at Syracuse University.
