Artist Statement

My research and visual work aim to reconnect Turkey with its deep-rooted heritage and identity by exploring the origins of the Turks and their pre-Islamic history. This exploration holds the potential for significant contributions, not just in academia but also in fostering cultural reconciliation within Turkey. The visual thesis resulting from this research includes an ancient nomadic short story and a reinterpretation of the nomadic lifestyle with a contemporary perspective. It aims to bridge traditional and contemporary living through partnerships and fashion, while incorporating enduring themes of nomadism and shamanism.
