Lingyin Luo

Artist Statement

My visual art aims to transport and transform its audience through fantastical elements such as fairytale ambiance, non-human characters, and purified color schemes. Drawing inspiration from Art Nouveau, my work creates a private realm that offers space for introspection and wonder, inviting viewers to view our relationship with the world around us from a comfortable distance while providing them with an opportunity to explore themes such as femininity in a menacing world, solitude, and spiritual freedom in urban society.

Artist Bio

Lingyin (Erica) Luo is a New York-based digital artist exploring challenging themes of female identity, solitude, and spiritual freedom with an airy and fantastical expression style. She earned her B.A. from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and is expected to receive her M.F.A. in Illustration from Syracuse University in May, 2023.
