I’m an illustrator interested in animal characters, nature, and storytelling. I am proud of the cultural richness of my hometown Hangzhou, China, an historically famous city. The West Lake area has many historical relics where classical Chinese fairy tales took place. In the story of the White Snake, two main characters fell in love at first sight on the Broken Bridge on West Lake. For my visual thesis, I created a map imagined for a mobile phone app for tourists. On the map, the relic icons are linked to illustrated fairy tales. Feel the magic of these amazing stories.

Zhiying is an award-winning illustrator based in New York State. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art, BFA illustration program. She is currently studying at Syracuse University, MFA illustration program. Her illustrations have been recognized by Communication Art, Spectrum Fantasy Art and iJungle Illustration etc.
