Growing up, in my very own house, I learnt that people were not treated equally may it be due to their gender, class or caste. As an artist, I wanted to explore this emotional complexity and simultaneously unravel the paradoxical dynamic in a family that was entangled with hierarchy of dominance exposing the void, chaos and vulnerability that exists.

Manya Gadhok is a documentary and narrative filmmaker, who came to New York to pursue her MFA n Film from Syracuse University. Gadhok is dedicated towards telling stories that find its roots in the experiences shared with and around her family. Her work explores the themes of gender discrimination and class divide prevalent in one's society. Her films have been showcased at many international film festivals such as Dada Saheb Phalke Award and it has even won grants like Creative Opportunity Grant. Moreover, numerous Indian media houses like Times of India, etc. have recognised and featured her work. Overall, she aims to create films not just for entertainment but for a better change in the society at large.
