Andrea Osby

I have grown interested in why most African Americans are unaware of their history. I soon realized that many ancient African records were erased or not conducted due to racism and white supremacy. For my MFA thesis, I decided to educate viewers about the Benin Kingdom, one of the most powerful kingdoms in West Africa. I also will conduct my hypothesis on how the kingdom might have evolved in today's modern world if never colonized. My illustrations will be scenes of the alternative modern empire.

Andrea Osby is a digital illustrator from Memphis, Tennessee. She has an interest in concept art for the video game industry. Andrea received her BFA with a concentration in painting from Mississippi State University. She is currently pursuing her MFA in illustration at Syracuse University.
