Crouse College | EST 1889

Visiting campus, especially when classes are in session, is the best way to learn about Syracuse University and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

You can experience first hand the vibrancy and energy of the University when you walk across the Quad to the Shaffer Art Building, down the hill to the Regent Theater Complex, or into Crouse College's Setnor Auditorium with current students during a typical day of classes (you can even schedule a music lesson). You will have the opportunity to speak with current students and get a real sense of what it's like to be part of VPA and the campus community. You can also meet with us at one of our many off-campus events, including National Portfolio Days, auditions, college fairs, and high school visits. Some of the dates and locations listed in this section of our site also give you the opportunity to have a portfolio review or audition.

Prospective Student Visits: Information Sessions

Sessions for prospective first-year and transfer students are available on campus with a representative from the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

Sessions include a presentation about VPA, including overviews of the School of Art, School of Design, Department of Transmedia, Department of Drama, Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies, and the Setnor School of Music. We will also discuss application processes, talent requirements such as auditions and portfolios, and answer any questions you may have.

VPA sessions are included as an extension of the Syracuse University Office of Admissions' “Weekday Campus Visit” and are offered on the following days and times:

11 a.m. Monday through Friday

3 p.m. Monday through Friday

Reservations for a “Weekday Campus Visit” are required and can be booked through the Office of Admissions. If you will be on campus all day, we recommend full-day visitors register for the Office of Admissions' “Weekday Campus Visit” at 9 a.m., which includes a VPA 11 a.m. information session. This allows for such afternoon options as facility tours and portfolio reviews. If you are interested in planning your day with us or would like to know more about our afternoon options, please call the VPA Office of Recruitment and Admissions at 315.443.2769.
