Matthew Quezada

Class of 2021

Hello! My name is Matthew and I am a current Sophomore Music Education Major with a double major in Music History & Cultures and a Minor in Jazz Studies. I am from Elgin, IL, a suburb 40 minutes west of Chicago. My primary instrument is viola, but... I happen to be a Tuba Leader in the Syracuse University Marching Band. I am also one of the 2 undergraduate conductors of the Syracuse University Pep-Band: The Sour Sitrus Society. SU was one of the schools at the top of my list in high school, and now that I am here, I constantly bleed Orange! The environment here provides an incredible blend of the “college” experience and a ‘school within a school’ style program. The Setnor School of Music provides incredible opportunities to acquire the skills it takes to be a musician, an expert in your field of interest, and an ever growing learner. In my spare time, when I’m not in a practice room, you can find me hanging out with my friends, eating a Schine quesadilla, or in Crouse College doing homework. If you have any questions about SU Bands, the music school, or college life in general, I’m your guy!
