The Setnor School is committed to providing professional-level training to young musicians within the context of a large research university. Students work intensively in their respective majors while taking advantage of all Syracuse University has to offer. Options are available for completing minors and, in many cases, second majors outside of music. Students accomplish all this while still practicing their instruments, attending rehearsals, and giving recitals.

An audition is required for all students seeking admission to the Setnor School of Music, except for those applying to the bachelor of science (B.S.) in recording and allied entertainment industries (the Bandier Program). Students are responsible for submitting their audition in-person, online, or by mail. All students are responsible for meeting Syracuse University's general requirements.
