Transfer students

Welcome! Study in the College of Visual and Performing Arts focuses on the education of cultural leaders as well as creative and scholarly excellence. Each day you are surrounded by a diverse community of students and a dedicated, supportive faculty and staff.

The college's programs are divided into four areas:

  • Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies
  • Department of Drama
  • Rose, Jules R., and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music
  • School of Art and Design

The intimate atmosphere within the college blended with the advantages of a major university and a lively urban environment offers rich opportunities for students pursuing their education at Syracuse.

Please note that all prospective undergraduate students applying to the College of Visual and Performing Arts must meet Syracuse University's general requirements and submit a portfolio or audition to complete their application. If you are completing the Common Application, the Arts Supplement is not required.
