If you are planning on coming to Syracuse University, please take a moment to fill out the "Intent to Register" form that you received in your admission packet. By completing and sending us this form, you are indicating your intent to come to Syracuse. This means that we know you are coming and will make sure you are on our contact list as we start contacting everyone about coming to Syracuse. The form can be mailed to us or can be scanned and emailed to admissg@syr.edu.

Please note that the College of Visual and Performing Arts does not require a tuition deposit. Please do not send a check!

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents

You will receive an official letter of admission, along with an Intent to Register form, by mail. Please complete both sides of the Intent to Register form, then mail it back to us using the enclosed envelope. SU:VPA programs do not require an advance tuition deposit, but we do require the form to be returned to us by April 15.

International Students

You will receive an official letter of admission, I-20, and Intent to Register form in one package via DHL, as soon as the I-20 has been prepared by our Slutzker Center for International Services. Please note that the I-20 cannot be prepared unless you show proof of funding for the first year of study at the University. This documentation was requested in the online application, but if you did not provide it, please do so as soon as possible to allow for creation of the I-20. Once you receive the offer of admission, please complete both sides of the Intent to Register form, then mail it back to us using the enclosed envelope. SU:VPA programs do not require an advance tuition deposit, but we do require the form to be returned to us by April 15.

Deferring Admission

SU allows admitted students to defer their admission one time by one year. For instance, if you were admitted for Fall 2015, you may defer until Fall 2016. If you do defer, please note that any merit-based awards you receive will be forfeited, and cannot be guaranteed for the next year. You will be reconsidered for merit-based awards the next year. Declining an Offer

If you elect not to attend SU, please either send us the Intent to Register form stating you will not be attending, or email us at admissg@syr.edu. If you have received an I-20 form (international students only) but will not be attending, please destroy the form. There is no need to mail the I-20 back to us.
