If you are seriously interested in a career in the theater and entertainment industry, the Department of Drama in VPA offers you the chance to nurture your creative abilities through an unparalleled combination of teaching professionals, diverse performance and staging opportunities, and excellent facilities.
As a student in the department, you will experience an exciting professional environment that fosters creative growth and prepares you to accept the challenges of a demanding but immensely rewarding profession. Because Syracuse is a major research university, you also have the opportunity to explore such areas as fine arts, literature and humanities, and the social sciences.
An audition or portfolio is required for all students applying to the Department of Drama. Students are responsible for submitting their audition or portfolio in person, online, or by mail.
Please note that if you are completing the Common Application, the Arts Supplement is not required.
