| The Syracuse University Oratorio Society, founded in 1975, is a mixed vocal ensemble comprised of SU students and community members who enrich the Syracuse community through education and development of choral music. The Society encourages member participants to strive for and achieve personal musical excellence in the choral setting. Student choral members have additional opportunities for creativity in conducting and composing works. The first-rate musical choir specializes in choral works
from the Renaissance to the present. Repertoire also includes international,
multi-cultural and commissioned works. The Oratorio Society has a brilliant
sound that was greeted with enthusiasm at its debut performance in Carnegie
Hall in 1978. |
