Ida Tili-Trebicka, professor of practice in the College of Visual and Performing Arts' Setnor School of Music, was awarded an honorary membership to Syracuse University's Alpha Sigma chapter of the Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society during the spring semester. The University also inducted 56 new members.
The induction ceremony took place in Hendricks Chapel, during which the new members were awarded a medallion and certificate of membership. The keynote address was delivered by Herman Frasier, the University’s senior deputy director of athletics and former vice president of the U.S. Olympic Committee, gold medalist at the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montreal, and chef de mission for the U.S. delegation at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. He was also awarded an honorary membership.
Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education. The society also recognizes U.S. students who have studied abroad and faculty and staff who are involved in international activities.
