Teen artists who completed the 2017 Talent Agency Summer Intensive under the guidance of students from the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) will present their portfolios on Friday, Aug. 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Point of Contact Gallery, 350 W. Fayette St., Syracuse.
Talent Agency exists to serve Syracuse area high school students from economically disadvantaged communities by providing a consistent means for art and design portfolio development and mentorship. Its goal is to develop the students’ natural talents and set participants in the program on a course to college art and design programs or quality technical education and training.
The instructors and drawing assistants are graduate students from VPA’s School of Art, School of Design, and Department of Transmedia. School of Art undergraduate students served as program assistants and interns.
This year’s Talent Agency Summer Intensive was directed by Nada Odeh G’18 with Asal Andarzipour G’17, assistant director and drawing instructor. Instructors also included Adriana Bianchi G'18 (photography), LaNia Roberts ’18 (painting), Taro Takizawa G’17 (drawing), Andrew Pappas G’18 (digital) and Chelsey Albert G’18 (3D).
