For the fall 2012 production of "Merrily We Roll Along," the Department of Drama in Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts will be casting a local actor (age 5-11) for the role of Frank, Jr. Auditions will be held July 12 & 13 at Syracuse Stage, 820 East Genesee Street. Directed by SU Drama professor Brian Cimmet, Stephen Sondheim’s "Merrily We Roll Along" will run Sept. 28—Oct. 7 in the Storch Theatre at 820 East Genesee Street.
Description of role: The role of Frank, Jr. appears in three scenes and includes some dialogue and some solo singing. The age of the character is 5-8 years old, though actors up to age 11 are welcome to audition.
What to prepare: Please prepare a simple song that can be sung without piano accompaniment. In addition, please prepare two short stories—one about something wonderful and exciting, and the other story about something sad.
