In a recent post on the blog Envato, School of Design alumna Lisa (Prudin) Campana '94 answers 12 questions about her career path and her role as head designer at MOO, an award-winning online print business in London, England.
In the post, Campana discusses her Syracuse education and what she gained from majoring in communications design. "The program there was really demanding, we worked day and night, but it really prepared us for the 'real world' of design, which can be as equally demanding," she notes.
The School of Design's program in communication design features design classes that are modeled on professional practice. Students develop their ability to solve real-world problems along with a variety of skills in graphic media. Coursework explores the creative process, communications theory, design history, and project management, in addition to illustration, photography, typography, and production processes.
