L.A. and London semesters

_The Bandier Program offers opportunities to study in Los Angeles and London. The combination of internships, curriculum, and experience learning allows students to experience two of the biggest music markets in the world.

Bandier students in London

LA Semester Bandier students and those from SU's Newhouse School gather with SU alumni and administrators around director/actor/writer Rob Reiner (seated, center), who served as a guest speaker/educator for the fall 2010 LA Semester class "The Business of Development Production and Post-Production," which is held at Universal Studios.

Bandier student Kaitlyn Moore ’10 meets musician Taylor Swift during her semester in London.

Los Angeles

The LA Semester offers you the resources to excel in your field while refining your entrepreneurial skills. Students are required to organize a concert (proceeds will be donated to a charity of their choice) and fulfill a 20 hour-per-week internship. Internships are available in a wide variety of disciplines, including booking, music publishing, marketing, promotion, and recording.

London

In the music industry, London is considered the center of the “rest of the world.”  The Bandier Program encourages you to take the fall semester of your senior year to study abroad in London.  At Syracuse University’s London center, which is part of SU Abroad, you take classes in such areas as global commerce and law in the music and entertainment industries, global ethnomusicology, and the London classical music scene. You are encouraged to participate in an internship, which is arranged and supervised by the Bandier Program.
