Among the groups performing regularly in Syracuse are the Syracuse Opera, Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music, Society for New Music, Civic Morning Musicals, the New York State Baroque, the Central New York Jazz Orchestra, and the Syracuse Camerata. Syracuse University's Pulse program allows students to purchase discounted tickets to many of these events.

If you wish to go farther afield, Syracuse is a pleasant half-day drive to New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, or Toronto.
