Pianist Sar-Shalom Strong is familiar to east coast audiences as a solo and collaborative pianist. A graduate of Syracuse University with a master of music degree, Mr. Strong has worked with a number of internationally recognized artists including trombonist Joseph Alessi, flutist Judith Mendenhall, and soprano Helen Boatwright. Mr. Strong has participated in master classes given by Martin Katz, Paul Sperry, Ellen Shade, Richard Hundley, and John Shirley-Quirk. In August 2003 he was featured in a Hugo Wolf Lieder program at the Skaneateles Festival with baritone Sanford Sylvan and soprano Janet Brown. Most recently, he was a featured musician for a program presented by the Sean Curran Dance Company. In addition to frequent performances with the Society for New Music, Mr. Strong regularly performs orchestral keyboard duties with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and serves as an adjudicator for competitions sponsored by numerous regional organizations. Mr. Strong serves on the piano faculty at Hamilton College.
