Meet Us

We offer both on- and off-campus opportunities for you to learn more about the Department of Drama. Many of the dates and places listed below also give you the opportunity to have the required audition for acting and musical theater applicants and the required portfolio review for design/technical theater and stage management applicants. Please refer to our section on Audition and Portfolio Requirements for specific guidelines. Note: you may register for drama auditions/portfolio reviews online beginning October 1, 2009 at noon Eastern time. Please also note that there will be an audition fee of $40 for in-person auditions at all locations.

You may audition or submit your portfolio before or after you submit your application, but you must register no later than January 1. If dates are full, you may submit an audition or portfolio by mail.

ON CAMPUS

Fall Receptions
Reservations are required. Fall Receptions are open-house days that include the option of an audition or portfolio review on select dates. Separate reservations for the reception event and an audition/portfolio review are required. Click here for event registration. Audition/portfolio review reservations will be offered online beginning October 1, 2009 at noon Eastern time.

The fall 2009 dates are:

 - Monday, October 12 (no auditions)
 - Friday, October 16
 - Monday, October 30
 - Friday, November 6 (no auditions)

In addition to the morning’s admissions information, the day will include:

 - Department of Drama presentation
 - An audition (October 16 and October 30 only)*
 - Department of Drama facilities tour
 - College of Visual and Performing Arts open house

* Audition and portfolio review times are not assigned. Students are called in from a sign-in list.

Drama Audition Days
Drama Audition Days are held at the Department of Drama, which is located at 820 East Genesee Street. They include a presentation by the department followed by tours, auditions, and portfolio reviews. Reservations are required and may be made by online registration only. Online registration begins October 1, 2009 at noon Eastern time.

Information Sessions
Reservations are required and can be made by calling 315-443-2769. Information sessions are available with a representative from the college's Office of Recruitment and Admissions Monday through Friday throughout the year. The appointment includes information on:
 - Department of Drama programs
 - The application process
 - Scheduling the audition or portfolio review
 - A tour of the drama department when possible

Auditions
Only auditions for acting and musical theater will be available off campus. If you are submitting a portfolio for theater design and technology or stage management, you may either have an on-campus review in-person or submit by mail. These portfolios will NOT be reviewed off campus.
