Directions
If you are a prospective undergraduate student and would like to visit the School of Art and Design, we ask that you begin by calling the Office of Recruitment and Admissions at 315-443-2769 so they can accommodate your visit and provide you with the necessary admissions information. This office, located in Room 202 Crouse College, will be the first stop on your visit.
Directions to Syracuse and Crouse College
Syracuse is served by most major airlines, Amtrak, and Greyhound Bus. Hancock International Airport is only a few miles from downtown and is served by taxis. Car rental from all of the major agencies is available at the airport.
By car, Crouse College and Syracuse University is most easily reached from Interstate 81. New York State Thruway travelers should take Thruway exit 36 (Interstate 81) and proceed south. Both northbound and southbound travelers on Interstate 81 should exit at Adams Street (exit 18). At the exit:
- Southbound travelers should proceed down the ramp and continue on Almond Street to Adams Street. Turn left on Adams Street and continue up the hill to the third traffic light. Cross University Avenue and turn left into University Avenue Garage.
- Northbound travelers should proceed down the ramp and turn right onto Adams Street. Continue up the hill to the third traffic light. Cross University Avenue and turn left into the University Avenue Garage.
- To walk to Crouse College, follow University Avenue toward campus (the Hall of Languages will be facing you) for one block. Turn right on Marshall Street (Starbucks will be on your right).
- Follow Marshall Street to South Crouse Avenue and turn left. Continue one block and cross Waverly Avenue. Continue one more block until you reach University Place.
- At University Place you will see on your right a long, curving staircase that will lead you up the hill to the front of Crouse College (the red sandstone Victorian building that resembles a castle). Take this staircase and enter in this front door.
- Room 202 is the first door on your right.
- If someone in your party is unable to walk to Crouse College, contact the Office of Recruitment and Admissions at 315-443-2769.
