School of Art and Design applicants must have a bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) degree or its equivalent (80 to 90 credits of studio work) from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university for most studio programs. Applicants to the school's programs in art photography, art video, computer art, and film must have a B.F.A. degree or a bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. For the school's program in museum studies, a B.A. or bachelor of science (B.S.) degree is sufficient.
If you did not attend a U.S. college or university, you must have a degree or diploma that is equivalent to an American bachelor’s degree. The University’s Graduate School has specific guidelines for international credentials.
A maximum of 30 percent of the credit counted toward your Syracuse degree may be transferred from another institution, subject to approval from your program and the Graduate School.
