B.S. in Drama

The B.S. degree program in drama is our most flexible and traditional degree, with a balance of required classes in the drama department and academic courses in the liberal arts and in SU’s other schools and colleges. The B.S. degree is designed for those students who have a broader theater interest and who are interested in a minor in another academic area.

The acting emphasis has the same requirements as the B.F.A. degree program in drama (acting) for the first two years. In the final two years, upper-level performance classes are optional if the student passes the appropriate evaluations. If you wish to pursue the technical theater emphasis or an interest in directing, theater management, or playwriting, the program of study must be customized to your area of focus with your academic advisor.
