William DiCosimo has been performing around upstate New York and the northeastern U.S. for more than 20 years and has garnered three Syracuse Area Music Awards. His current project, The Bill DiCosimo Quartet, has been performing in concert, at clubs and restaurants, as well as at private events for the past three years. He also plays keyboards for the standout regional favorite Latino band Grupo Pagan. Grupo recently completed its first full-length CD recording under the producership of renowned Yellowjackets bass player Jimmy Haslip. DiCosimo is also a member of the Syracuse University Faculty Jazz Quintet and director and pianist/arranger of the SU vocal jazz ensemble Windjammer.

DiCosimo has been a session musician for various local and national recording projects.  The Bill DiCosimo Quartet’s recent CD Grab Hold of Your Dreams received airplay on more than 70 domestic and international radio stations. The group has also performed at the Polanen EAU Jazz Festival in Poland and at the Detroit International Jazz Festival, providing rhythm section accompaniment for high school and college student performers at the Scholastic Jam Stage.

DiCosimo has played piano and synthesizer on a series of recording sessions with the Boston Brass and other regional and national artists to recreate the Stan Kenton Christmas album released in fall 2006. Along with all the members of Grupo Pagan, DiCosimo opened for and backed up renowned Latino jazz flutist Dave Valentin and percussionist Emedin Rivera at Jazz in the City.

As chair of the music industry program at SU, DiCosimo teaches such courses as Survey of Music Industry, Popular Songwriting, Record Production, Jazz Piano Jazz Arranging, and Film Scoring and Jingle Writing. He is also active as a local and regional clinician and adjudicator.
