B.A. in Music

The bachelor of arts (B.A.) program in music is particularly appropriate for students desiring the challenge of an enriched program of intellectual stimulation. It offers students who wish to earn a degree in music the opportunity to work extensively in music while devoting more time to liberal arts studies than is possible in the program leading to the bachelor of music degree.

The four-year program requires 126 to 129 credits. Students complete the same core courses in the first two years as those students in the bachelor of music degree programs. The final two years allow for more academics and electives.

Syracuse University also offers a non-professional B.A. degree program through the College of Arts and Sciences that requires 30 credits in music history and culture.
