Your curriculum for your first year of study in the School of Art and Design depends on the major in which you are interested.
First-year students interested in a major in the Department of Art (art education, ceramics, fiber and textile arts, history of art, illustration, jewelry and metalsmithing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture) or the Department of Design (advertising design, communications design, fashion design, industrial and interaction design, and interior design) take the first-year foundation program.
First-year students interested in a major in the Department of Transmedia (art photography, art video, computer art, and film) take the courses in transmedia core.
