Joanna Spitzner is interested in the experiential nature of art. Her work involves video, images, ephemera, performances, and writing. She often works collaboratively or through experimental organizations. Lately, she has been making work about economic experiences, political dialogue, and history.

Joanna has worked in the non-profit arts community for many years prior to joining Syracuse University. She received a BFA in painting from Syracuse University and an MFA in art critical practices from The Ohio State University. She teaches Time Arts.
