Julia McKinstry

Julia McKinstry earned a bachelor of music degree in voice from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a master of fine arts degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, where she participated in master classes with Todd Duncan, Dalton Baldwin, and Paul Sperry.

She has worked extensively on both the operatic and concert stages with such conductors as David Zinman, Robert Shaw, and Robert Page. She was a resident artist with the Regensburger Stadtische Buhnen for a number of years and has performed such varying roles as Cunegonde in Candide, Frasquitta in Carmen, and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. She performed in concerts and recitals as well as maintained a private studio in Baltimore before moving to the Syracuse area.
