Upcoming Events

Orange Central is a once-a-year celebration for the entire Syracuse University community. Homecoming and reunion all rolled into one, it brings Syracuse University students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends together to enjoy dozens of activities, from lectures and panel discussions to campus tours, performances, and social and athletic events.

For alumni, Orange Central is a way to reminisce and reconnect, to explore SU’s newest places and programs, and to get to know today’s campus community. For students, it's the perfect time to show their Orange pride and enjoy a week filled with SU traditions hosted by the Traditions Commission, with free food, T-shirts, prizes, and more.

We Remember Them: The Legacy of Pan Am Flight 103 Exhibition Tour
3:30-4 p.m.
Bird Library, 6th floor, Special Collections Research Center
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 on December 21, 1988, over Lockerbie, Scotland. Through a selection of original documents, photographs, and other archival materials, this exhibition documents not only the terrorist act itself, but the lives of those lost and the ways they have been remembered. Join the Pan Am 103 archivist and exhibition curator, Vanessa St. Oegger-Menn, for a guided tour. Free.

Marching Band Alumni Rehearsal
7:30-9:30 p.m.
Carrier Dome, Field
Rehearse with fellow Marching Band alumni and meet our new band director, Professor Tim Diem. After rehearsal, there will be a networking opportunity with current band members and fellow alumni on field. This event is required if you wish to play with the band during Saturday's pregame performance on the field. Receive a special Pride of the Orange button!
Entrance: Band alumni may enter via Gates A, B, or C.
Cost: $30; includes ticket to Saturday, October 20, football game, SU vs. UNC. If you would like your guests to sit with you during the football game, you may do so by selecting the “Marching Band” section when purchasing your additional tickets.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20

Crouse College Chimes Tour
8-10 a.m.
301 Crouse College
Your Chimemaster tour guide will take you to the highest heights of Crouse College to see and hear the bells that provide the “Chimes of Crouse.” Please note that the bell tower tour requires steep staircase climbing and walking. Tours offered every 20 minutes; space is very limited for each tour and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Free.

Enjoy breakfast with your fellow Marching Band alumni before heading to Shaw Quad for the Orange Central Tailgate and pregame show. Receive a special Pride of the Orange button!

One hour before the game
Steps of Hendricks Chapel
Be on the Quad for the traditional Marching Band performance on the steps of Hendricks Chapel, and listen for your cue to join the group on the stairs for the annual Marching Band photo!
Free.

Hendricks Chapel Choir Mini-Concert
Following the game
Hendricks Chapel
The Hendricks Chapel Choir will present a mini-concert immediately following the football game. The choir will begin on the steps of the chapel as the game ends and will continue with a short performance inside the main chapel. Alumni will be invited to perform at least one piece with the choir. A reception will follow in the Noble Room in Hendricks Chapel. Receive a special Hendricks Chapel Choir button!
Free; includes light refreshments.
