organizing the Foundation Office

The new Department of Foundation Office in 222 Smith Hall is coming together. It was definitely a team effort. Pat Drake (our Administrative Assistant) picked me up at 8:30 this morning and we went shopping: coffeemaker, mugs (no paper or plastic for us), micorwave, plants, everything needed to make it feel like a place you'd like to work in, get help, and hang out.

Dean Costanzo was kind enough to move filing cabinets down from the third floor, and so I was finally able to unpack boxes and put things in their place. To be a good bureaucrat, you have to have your files organized. But I also want to be a fun bureaucrat, so I also have a dart board. We spent the day cleaning and organizing, and naming my new plant "Plant." I love our offices. This is one small step to making Smith Hall a good place.
